Jokkino — Brand & Color Guide

The designated color specification for Jokkino. Values are listed as Hex and RGB (the screen master), an approximate CMYK conversion for print, and a single-color mono percentage. Color is applied as flat, discrete steps.

Version 1.0 · 2026-06-19

These are Jokkino's designated colors and the reference all artwork returns to. A specific context may still call for a deliberate, appropriate deviation.

1. Color specification

1.1 Beer-color ramp

Every character body is filled from a single seven-step beer-color ramp, light to dark. Characters are told apart by silhouette, eye shape, and foam — never by a family color. Hex and RGB are the master values; CMYK is an approximate print conversion.

Swatch Name Hex RGB CMYK Mono
Pale Straw #F8E6A6 248, 230, 166 0, 7, 33, 3 15%
Straw #F6D772 246, 215, 114 0, 13, 54, 4 25%
Pale Gold #F5CA4F 245, 202, 79 0, 18, 68, 4 40%
Deep Gold #E4A93C 228, 169, 60 0, 26, 74, 11 60%
Amber #C5852C 197, 133, 44 0, 32, 78, 23 75%
Brown #7C4923 124, 73, 35 0, 41, 72, 51 85%
Black #2A1A12 42, 26, 18 0, 38, 57, 84 100%

Any step may serve as the base fill. The highlight is the step above the base; the shadow is the step below — both taken from this same ramp.

1.2 Foam palette

Foam is colored independently of the body, from a separate light palette running white to pale cream. Foam tone is chosen by state and light, not fixed to the body color.

Swatch Tone Hex RGB CMYK
1 #FFFFFF 255, 255, 255 0, 0, 0, 0
2 #FEFCF6 254, 252, 246 0, 1, 3, 0
3 #FCF8EE 252, 248, 238 0, 2, 6, 1
4 #F8F1E1 248, 241, 225 0, 3, 9, 3
5 #F3EAD6 243, 234, 214 0, 4, 12, 5
6 #EEE2CB 238, 226, 203 0, 5, 15, 7
7 #E8DABF 232, 218, 191 0, 6, 18, 9

Foam stays in the white-to-cream range at all times — even on a dark-beer body, foam is never tinted tan. Tone 1 (#FFFFFF) is paper / knock-out in print: 0, 0, 0, 0, with no ink laid down.

1.3 Outline

All artwork is outlined in a single near-black line color, #2A1A12. Pure #000000 is an accepted fallback.

On a near-black body (the Brown or Black ramp steps), keep the outline distinct from the fill. The outline color is the ramp's Black step — the same value, listed here for convenience.

1.4 Single-color version

Where full color cannot be reproduced, Jokkino is rendered in a single-color version using the mono percentages listed in the ramp — the outline at 100%, knock-out (0%) for the lightest areas.

  • 0% White / knock-out
  • 15% Pale Straw
  • 25% Straw
  • 40% Pale Gold
  • 60% Deep Gold
  • 75% Amber
  • 85% Brown
  • 100% Black

The full-color version does not hold up on photographs or strongly colored backgrounds; the single-color version exists for those cases. In single-color, the white foam areas become 0% knock-out (paper).

Use the published mono percentages. Do not auto-convert the full-color artwork to grayscale.

1.5 Fill & shading

  • Fills are flat. Color is applied as discrete cel steps from the ramp.
  • A shadow is the next ramp step down, applied as a flat region — not a gradient.
  • No gradients, no soft or blurred shadows, no 3D shading.

2. Application

Two reference specimens: the full-color version and the single-color version. No callout lines.

Jokkino — single-color version (mono ladder), same pose as the full-color specimen
Single-color

The full-color specimen is the production emoji from the Jokkino toolchain (きもち set, 001). The single-color specimen is a mono version of the same emoji, built by remapping its fills to the mono-ladder values (not an auto-grayed image). A dedicated single-color asset from the toolchain is still pending.
